you don't have to kill it... even if you just try the game will crash...
I hit a zed with a sledgehammer and BAM, Dayz has stopped working... ooook
Restart- new server and I was bleeding... so the game kicked me out AND my Character was still vulnerable....

I am going to close this as a duplicate report of #19149 (which describes the same problem). The issue is not quite fixed yet, but I am happy to hear that the hotfix has worked for you.
