I've been playing the dayz standalone a fair bit recently and while I am having a lot of fun, it is ended abruptly by the random deletion/reset of my characters. I dont understand why it's happening or what is happening but everytime I seem to run many thousands of miles gearing my character geared up, as soon as I decide to change server or reconnect to a server due to a server restart, my character is deleted and im a fresh new spawn on the beach.

Pretty much everytime i log out and join a server again.
Ran into the same problem sometimes when I was instantly rejoining after server restart. Waiting some seconds/minutes before rejoining avoids the resetting.
If you are in a server and it restarts WAIT till the server time is updated don't just jump back in. The server hasn't had time to sync with the central hive(ever shut down Dayz and seen the sync message in steam?) it will reset you almost every time if you jump back in before it has time to sync. The servers that have SSD drives are good about not resetting your character.

If you are joining a private shard server you will get that message every time, if its one that you have been on before you will still get that message because you are not logging in the the central hive. Join and see if you really did get reset or this the central hive message then report back.....

Thank you for sending us your feedback regarding this issue. Unfortunately, this problem is a known issue that has previously been reported. The devs are aware of the problem related to character save loss and they'll be working on fixing it.
