Bleeding means shirts get ruined... mechanic is extremely infuriating.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

This is more of a bellyaching/suggestion post, but I think it needs balancing, as it's skewed way out of proportion.

Apparently, your shirt, even the tactical military tops patched to 'worn' condition, can be ruined by a bit of server lag causing a few hits from a zed and bleeding. Freaking bleeding. This ruining of the shirt will destroy items inside of it, also, apparently- more absorbant items taking more damage, and I assume the damage increases over time the longer it's left in the ruined clothing... I don't know for sure. But this is what I'm assuming via my observations.

The pants I wear never take any wear, and this is not an exaggeration. I've never had a pair of pants become 'ruined' or deteriorate, ever, on me. Shirts, however, seem to become ruined simply from bleeding.

This mechanic has become about as infuriating as the server lag itself, as 40 round stacks of 45ACPs have been ruined by this BS (Bad Server) before, as they were in my shirt. (Which also doesn't really make sense to me. If I spilled blood on bullets, they will still work. Guns and mechanical parts, like magazines, might have some issues if they're soaking and flooding in the sh**, and so would rags as they soak up the blood- but canned food, ammo in any form, first aid kits which are hard-shelled containers, and tools shouldn't be effected... at all.)

Can anyone tell me, for instance, why pants never take any wear, and why shirts take it all? And if that wasn't bad enough, it seems that shirts are much rarer than pants. At least, those with inventory space, that are worth wearing. It took me nearly forever to find the 6-slot shirt I had, and a fight with a zed on the airstrip, in which I took two hits, took it from 'worn' to 'ruined'. I crie everi tiem, and it looked so good on me, too, matching my pants. :(
I think this needs balancing. At the very least, there should be more Check Shirts and Hunter Tops spawning out there, compared to the number of canvas shorts and jeans I find as loot spawns.

Hi,
Clothes (and items in them)can get ruined when getting hit by Zombies, the bleeding is not supposed to have an effect. The reason shirts get damaged more often than pants is simply that a Zombie is much more likely to hit the character in their upper body.
