Out of memory? Memory leak need help.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Whenever i play dayz i am able to play for approximately 5-15mins before i get a message from windows telling me my system is low on memory and eventually the game crashes. I have monitored the games memory usage through task manager and the game is using nearly all my memory. This has been an on going issue for me that i was hoping would be eventually patched out but i still have. Is there anyway for me to fix it or send some kinda report to diagnose the problem so it can be fixed. Here is my computers spec below in the link. I also created a Dxdiag.txt file seconds before the crash.

Hello,

please send us the files from this folder: "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\DayZ\"

If the *.rar is smaller than 5.000KB, you can attach it here.
In case it's larger than that, please try uploading it to a file sharing website and link it here.

For future reports please refer to the "How to guide" http://feedback.dayzgame.com/how-to-user.html

Thank you.

I attached my recent crash dumps because i was not sure which specific one to send. I hope there is enough info that i have provided because usually when i crash both my computer screens turn black and the computer locks up and i am forced to reset.

Do you still need info?

Hi Silentghost14,
not at the moment. The files you have provided are scheduled for investigation at the moment, hopefully we can come up with something useful.
Regards,
Andy

Hello Silentghost14,
sadly, this is indeed caused by a memory leak (presumably when a texture is loading). Sadly, at the current state of the game, optimization is not by any means perfect and while we are constantly working to improve this, it might take some time for all these issues to go away.
For now, please make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers and play the game with all other applications closed. Also, try to lower the graphics settings.
I am terribly sorry, but regrettably, issues as yours would be very hard for us to fix separately at the moment and you might have to wait before we manage to tackle the optimization on a more global scale.
Sorry once again,
Andy
