Playing on experimental server and was unable to strike zombies with the machete, screwdriver, and shovel. seems to happen more then half the time now. I was looting on the coast and was attacked by a few zeds the first one went down with the first hit. the second took about ten tries split between shovel and machete all while aiming at the head. the third was completely uneffected by all three weapons.

Not sure if it plays in at all but i was looting a house with what seemed like infinite items before i noticed the problem.

Same here! I never or almost never hit a zombie with a Crossbar or Splitting Axe. But it's no problem to kill a zombie with bare hands.

I am having the same issue with as this thread i have used other melee weapons and no affect on zombies. I ushly die when trying to use melee weapons they seem to make few to no contact on zombies. I have found fist fighting zombies is more effective then using melee weapons.
