Same here! I never or almost never hit a zombie with a Crossbar or Splitting Axe. But it's no problem to kill a zombie with bare hands.

Some of my friends had this problem, too. They solved it:
- Login to a server where you were online and alive before
OR
- Login to a server with a name like "Delete Character", "Character Reset" or such

I can confirm this, I were killed due to this glitch today.

This happens to me sometimes, too. I hit 0 [Num-Block] and Shift a few times to resolve this.
