There was the update 0.48 and since then, I lost both my characters. Regular and Hardcore characters were just gone, who survived since 0.45!!! I started playing with new ones. Yesterday I switched server and I was spawned as a fresh charakter and I logged in today and again started anew. I am 101% sure I wasn't killed, because there was noone there. It happens more often than not, so yeah.
(and sometimes when I spawn, there are no items ... but that is a different story)
EDIT: I just logged in and suddenly I got my character, who vanished like 4 charakters ago ... Now I am confused.

Steps To Reproduce
Just log out, get kicked or lose connection when server restarts. Log back in, and the charakter is gone.
EDIT 15.08.14 23:24 GMT+1: some charakters who vanished just reappeared
EDIT 18.08.14 14:57 GMT+1: 2 of 3 times I start with a new character and in 50% of those cases when I die or relog my old character returns
