Rendering a lot of items produces random zombie noises
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I accidentally left my 10ms-interval "f"-spam makro on an apple tree running for a few minutes, and produced hundreds or thousands of items.

Luckily, the engine is smart enough to not render items that share the exact same location in the world. However, the inventory screen is not.

So every time I went in the inventory menu with the apples on the ground displaing I got ~1fps and constantly zombie noises.

No zombie noises get played when you don't do anything. The zombie sounds only play when you make sounds (walking, brushing against the tree, etc.)

This is most probably unrelated and seems like a very long winded way of reproducing this problem.

I believe its an issue with direct chat globally broadcasting sounds that should only be heard on the clients machine.

For example, a player uses direct communication (CAPS LOCK) the same time they are opening a can/hearing a zombie noise etc and for some reason everyone on the server can hear it.

Hello,

thanks for the report. I can confirm that your reproduction works. I will close this issue as I will probably not be able to provide more feedback on it, but rest assured that we have taken it into account and it has helped us quite a bit.

Your report is greatly appreciated.
