"No Msg Received for X Seconds" msg appears and error in Windows
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

While playing, after a time of 15-30 minutes I will get "No Message Received for X Seconds..." and at the very moment it pops up a Windows Error Message pops up saying:
"DayZ.exe - Drive Not Ready"
"The Drive is not ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive A: and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed"
(Drive A: being the floppy drive, I find it kind of hilarious)
At first error gives you the option to 'cancel,' or 'try again.' Trying again has a possibility of giving you an additional 5-10 mins of gameplay, cancelling has a high probability of simply getting you stuck on "No MSG rcvd". After first pass through on error message, it will pop up again with 'Cancel,' 'Try Again,' and 'Continue'.
Upon this error, there's a low chance you'll click try again and get 5-10 mins of gameplay, and every other button seems to be certain disconnection from the server.

(It's all so very strange, and the problem started last night on experimental as well)

Log into server, play for an 1/2 hour to an hour (if you're lucky), prepare to get kicked by BattleEye or slowly watch your timer tick down until you time out.

Additional Information

Possible causes (will test tomorrow) I am running in WinXP mode, which may cause some weird permission problems, but I would not expect the game has any reason to try to access the A: drive anyway.
I also had previously tweaked some minor settings, like max frames, etc. May check to see if defaulting has an affect.
Finally, I will try and uninstall and reinstall.
Will also try to record a video if possible.

here's a vid of it happening. http://www.twitch.tv/mikeawesome/b/553265774
Error occurs right around the 19-20min mark.
Have since been playing without running in compatibility mode and I have yet to see the error again.
Will update if it occurs again.

Hello MIKEAWESOME,

Sorry to hear about your trouble and thanks for sending in all your information regarding this issue. Did you already try to also remove all your DayZ launch options in Steam? I'll keep your ticket open so you can add notes/updates in case you receive the error message again, as you mention.

Regards,

JStewart

So far everything is operating normally after a solid 2-3 hour play session last night. I think that the issue lied within running it in XP mode, I made no other changes to how the game is run and now it's operating perfectly. If you'd like I can try to replicate it again and perhaps see if removing launch options and doing a fresh install still results in the error.

That would be great if you would have time to test that. Thanks Mike!
