Using Eat All option may cause binoculars to get eaten if used before the final you have eaten all message
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

It's happened to me twice now, with binoculars. When I'm observing a town from afar with binoculars I use that time to make sure I'm hydrated and energized.

Well, cutting to the chase - when I use the option "Eat All" on something like say a zucchini (what it happened with last time) and the second the action is finished enough to put something (the binoculars) back in my hands I pull up the binoculars again immediately, they're zoomed in and all seems well. That is, until maybe 5-10 seconds later I see the final "You have finished eating all the zucchini" message then BAM - my binoculars disappears from your inventory as if I'd eaten them instead of the zucchini.

I suppose the only good news is you'll still have that zucchini so you can eat it one more time.

This has happened to me twice both times while using binoculars. I'll keep trying to reproduce with other items I don't mind losing and will report back if I manage to have this happen for anything else, and I'll try something other than the zucchini + binocular combo. Oddly though, that's what I was eating/using both times.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Have binoculars in hands, zoomed in.
  2. Go into inventory, choose a zucchini, choose "Eat All".
  3. As soon as the action is complete enough to allow it, put the binoculars back in hand and zoom in to observe something.
  4. Wait a few seconds, when the final "you have finished eating all zucchini" type message shows your binoculars should disappear and the zucchini will still be in your inventory.

... or at least that's what happened to me!

Additional Information

Not sure if this helps, but I had a pretty full inventory. I was eating the zucchini in anticipating of making room (getting rid of the 2 slot item).

Was able to reproduce this again using different food and items:

  1. Eat All on canned peaches.
  2. As soon as the animation stops and it allows me, I hit the X on the item in hands on inventory and then put a sewing kit into my hands.
  3. Waited maybe 5-10 seconds until the "you have eaten all" message shows up, then poof, my sewing kit disappeared!

I'll have to test some more but another side effect of this may be a way to exploit endless food so long as you have junk items in your inventory to consume.

Just trying to be helpful but after searching more and understanding what happened more this looks an aweful lot like this other issue logged before mine:

This was the infamous "Eat All" bug, I'm confident this has been addressed and that this ticket can likely be closed. I've not been able to reproduce this for a few builds now.

Hahahahahh thats awesome x)

I also believe that this has been fixed and was unable to reproduce on the current version.
Please create a new ticket if another such issue arises.
Thank you!
