Can't play DayZ above 30 FPS
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello guys. I am a big fan of your works. DayZ is one of the second-generation PC games. I love this game but I cannot play this game above 30 FPS.

My current gear is:

Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 810
GPU: HIS ICEQ4+ HD4870 1GB
RAM: 6 GB 1333 MHz

I checked the system requirements of the game in Steam and everything was OK. I bought the game, downloaded it, and started to play. The first experience was abysmal for me. I lowered every graphic settings to its lowest and restarted the game. Joined a new server, and I was still having difficulties when playing the game. I lowered the ingame rendering to its lowest, I was able to play at +-50 FPS but I just couldn't see anything properly.

I have the latest drivers and DirectX. Is there any solution to enhance my ingame performance, can I play this game in better situation?

Waiting for your replies, keep up good work.

I have to say it is your computer which is the bottleneck, quite old. Best thing you can do is wait for the multicore optimizations or upgrade or buy a new machine.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I know that my setup is old but i should play this game normally. System requirements say that, not me :)

Anyway, I'm waiting for a detailed answer from DayZ support team. Have a nice day.

Ha that's nothing
FX8150 8 core processor
16GB Ram 1600 DDR3
R9 290 radeon 4GB DDR5 GPU
850W Corsair gold series PSU

28 FPS, and it goes to 43 MAX even on the lowest settings

Hello Parliamert,

As mxmilr98 mentions, your performance issues will most likely be due to your hardware. Your processor benchmarks for example are above the minimum requirements, but still a bit from the recommended specs. For now, I would suggest that you make sure that your hardware drivers are updated, but at this point in time, the game is not fully optimized, so that might very well also be the reason for you experiencing performance issues. This will of course be addressed in time as the project comes along.

Regards,

JStewart
