[Feature Request] New Startup Parameter - "-keys=path/to/folder"
New, NormalPublic

Description

Hi :)

Currently, when a server admin wants to run multiple Arma3 servers with key/signature verification=2 but with different sets of mods, they have no ways around to create a new install of the server files in a sperate path since there is no way to customize the path to the keys folder.

Everything else is already available for a while - mods, serverpofiles, ports, battleeye, basic.cfg, server.cfg, ...

Therefore, i would like to propose a long overdue feature: A new startup parameter that allows server admins to define a custom location of the "keys" folder for the circle to be completed.

Thaanks!

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Establish and host a dedicated server.
  2. come to the conclusion that you want a 2. server with seperate mods.
  3. be sad that there is no way around needing to have multiple installs of the arma 3 server files, only because key verification is hardcoded to a single path/folder.

please? 😬

cant you just symlink/junction all folders but keys into a second "server folder" - would leave only to duplicate the exe and a few dlls in the root dir

I mean yea, if i would be an advanced windows user, and would i know how to do that, then yea.

But considering that the following commands already allow you to define a dedicated path, like:

basic.cfg with -cfg=<filename>
server.cfg with -config=<filename>
serverProfile with -name=<string> and -profiles=<path>

... well then keys is really the only thing missing to make this complete and therefore it seems like a "planned" or "old" feature that has been neglected when signature verification has been introduced.
(idk if keys have been a thing before A3 so i might be wrong here).

not disagreeing. would be handy.
t the same time with very limited dev resources, its a matter of priority, complexity and benefits

Thats fair and i can understand the reasoning. still would be cool.
