I'm looking into a way to process the datastreams broadcasted by various transmitters, ideally on a separate mediaserver.
To be clear, I am aware of ACRE/TFAR, however their implementation relies heavily on a third-party applications and crude memory manipulation, as well as being developed for a different title.
What I'm trying to achieve is a plug-n-play (on the client side) mod, that would enable "radio-related" gameplay mainly for progression/roleplay focused servers. Adding in-game encryption/decryption for the datastream would allow people to communicate solely in-game privately, as well as create another layer of "espionage" gameplay. In the same way radios can be used to transfer data, if connected to various devices already developed by the community.
Even without an external audioserver, a way to post/pre process the IO of in-game transceivers would open up a lot of opportunities for modders.
