It might not be a warranty fail, but I won't be happy if they built me a gaming computer without enough power to operate a USB headset!
At any rate, I'll take it back next week and they'll check it out. If they don't find anything wrong, I'll probably try that Y-cable. Thanks for the suggestion.
ASUS and Plantronics are both well-known brands, though, so I'd think there'd be a lot more people with this problem if they just don't work well together.
Thanks again.
I've no idea.
Yes, that was my post. I've been posting questions everywhere. :)
I've got an ASUS P8h77-V LGA 1155 H77 DDR3 CrossFireX motherboard. My computer is less than a year old, so still under warranty. I had a place here in town build it for me, so if it might be the motherboard, I'll probably take it back to the shop and have them check it out.
The USB Y-cable would double the power available to the headset, then? Is that the idea?
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply. I've already updated drivers, but I don't have any idea what codecs are. (I've also tried multiple USB ports.)
As far as disabling the integrated soundcard on my motherboard,... how will I get any sound at all, then? I don't have a separate sound card.
