Since the update from last week I'm having some Resolution issues
New, WishlistPublic

Description

Since the update from last week when I log in I have horrid 4:3 resolution and don't have an option to change it to my previous working resolution of 1920 X 1080. I have searched the forums for help and was suggested I manually edit the config file found in my documents/dayz folder. However I do not have a config file in that directory. I have a Saved folder that is empty all the way down to :
\DayZ\Saved\mpmissions\__cur_mp.ChernarusPlus

I have deleted the game twice from Steam and redownloaded and installed. I have also verified the game cache several times. All while playing attention to that documents\Dayz folder and I never get a config file.

I am running on a high end ASUS ROG laptop with a Gefore GTX 780M GPU....

Hi,

At the main menu, click Configure -> Video -> User Interface and use the Resolution drop down list to select your resolution.

Make sure the Aspect Ratio option matches the aspect ratio of your resolution.

Close the config settings completely and return to the main menu.

Then open Config again, click Video and then select your resolution from the Rendering Resolution drop down list.

This should return your game back to normal resolution.

I have done as instructed. I can get to a working resolution. The user interface and the hotkey bar are huge and won't go into a very small mode. Plus once I exit the game and come back in later on the settings are still defaulting back to the bad resolution so I have to go through this whole process every time I want to play

Don't know but it's so interesting...because you haven't got both profile files too... If you got an email , i can send you cfg file but where is your profile file ? I think you have a serious problem.

Open dayz.cfg file and type "your real resolution" in there like ; for example your desktop resolution 1920X1080

change older one like that... delete 640 and 480 and type your resolution...
Resolution_W=1920;
Resolution_H=1080;

then open the game and change your resolution to 1920X1080 and change interface size to normal and change aspect ratio then you'll solve your problem...

I do not have a dayz.cfg file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 4 times now and that file does not exist. I have looked in the documents/dayz folder and there are sub folders but not one single file in any of those folders. I have turned on see hidden and even system files and it does not exist. I have preformed a FULL search of my hard drive including system files for a dayz.cfg file and it is no where to be found on my hard drive. I believe that to be the whole issue is that this file is not being created so the game has no saved default settings to launch from.

Dayz.cfg is in the documents/dayz folder

I just uploaded a picture of that folder to prove there are no files.... only empty folders in documents/DayZ.

I have this folder structure in that directory but only folders...no files:
\My Documents\DayZ\Saved\mpmissions\__cur_mp.ChernarusPlus

Also... I am using an administrator account on this PC. Would the game be using my credentials to write these files or some other credentials?

Is there a way to change the path to this directory to a folder on C drive for testing to see if it's something to do with permissions on my documents folder?
