After I incur a login timer from logging out of a server too quickly, I will often get a 'please wait' message once the timer runs out as I join a new server. This message will last from a few minutes to seemingly an endless amount of time.

I have this also.
While in "Please Wait" state, you can hit ESC and see that you are actually in the game and can move (while in please wait).
Annoying, but it goes away by either re-logging (on exp with no time penalty) or just waiting like it says.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. In case you still experience this problem, just send me a not with your Steam ID url, and I'll have a look into it. Example: "http://steamcommunity.com/id/xxxxxxxxxx/"
Also, please let me know if you experience the problem on both Regular/Hardcore servers.
If you prefer to send your Steam ID url in a private message, you can click the "Make Private" button to the left of your message after you click the button labeled "Add Note".
