The AKM in its current form is pretty overpowered in my opinion.
- 75 rounds magazine - pretty rare - but 75 rounds?!
- Bigger caliber and way more damage than M4A1 (My buddy shot me in the chest for me to test out if cooked meat gives you some blood back instantly like in the mod - instant death! ONE shot in the chest - DEAD)
- Rate of fire pretty much as high as M4A1 - even though bigger caliber
- recoil pretty easy to control, pretty much no burst required at 20m range
- ABSOLUTELY no spread!! as precise as SKS. At 100m no visible spread AT ALL. 5 shots at a dot 100m away - 5 times exactly the same impact.
-> so this gun is currently the jack of all trades in this game. Hopefully this is not the intended final version of the gun - but if it is: Please nerf it! At least finding lots of ammo for this gun isnt that easy but thats pretty much the only little downside of it. The devs should add some spread so that its no longer an autosniper. The damage of the weapon should be lowered to sks niveau. Still seems to be overpowered for a full-auto gun, doesnt it? To compensate for this massive damage output the recoil of this gun should be massive, so that this gun may be precise and deadly in terms of pure damage dealt out, but quickly hits you on the forehead if you dont learn to manage the recoil and burst it correctly (similar to G3A3/AN94 with heavy barrel in BF3).
In my opinion the AKM could be the perfect classic skill weapon, if you adjust it the way I suggest. The noob fails hard with it, the skilled player beats others no matter if they have an M4A1 with MP attachments or an SKS (reminds me of the AN94 in BF3, you could shut down every other gun entirely, while the noob just jams it and dies all the time).
