That is really strange. Your Laptop is much more powerful then my old desktop with cpu and gfx. You can optimize some important settings with editing config files and with launchoption. A guide can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216291078
Also close internet sites or browsers with flash content while playing. Some internet sites causing cpu stress to the computer.
Good luck.
I have an Asus G73 laptop with
Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHZ up to 2.8GHz
8GB 1333 Mhz Memory
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 with clocks 700MHz/1000Mhz
and an HDD which turns with 7200 RPM.
My tip: edit your config files outside of the game manually. You can find them here:
C:\Users\Skippy\Documents\DayZ
- DayZ.cfg
and
<your name>.DayZProfile
Do not use the tips you can find on many webpages. They are too "default"!
For example the statement "if you have a good cpu, set it too high". This is bullshit. Even with an 6-core you have lags in this game. The Arma-Engine is not optimized for multithreading.
I play this game with custom settings with 30 - 50 FPS.
Also reduce the rendering resolution down to 80% for example.
Disable shadows, Disable HDR-quality, disable antialising, disable alpha to coverage, disable high quality objects and so on and so on.. like this you get many FPS.
