Game crashes when i click on "Play" or "Change Server".
Need More Info, WishlistPublic

Description

I recently bought DayZ when it was on sale. I downloaded it and set everything up for my video settings. I go to click on "Change Server" (because i wasn't on any server ever before)and the game froze. I was able to close it by shutting down and canceling at the last second. The same thing happened when i clicked on "Play". I don't think its my Graphics card because i see the nicely detailed background it just freezes when i click on those two. Please help

When reporting a crash you need to upload a dxdiag report and the files from
C:/Users/<Name>/AppData/Local/DayZ/

Pack the files into a .rar file - if the RAR is smaller than 5000KB, you can attach it here. If it's larger, please upload it to a file sharing website and link it here.

For future reports please refer to the "How to guide"
http://feedback.dayzgame.com/how-to-user.html

Thanks

Hi,

Could you upload the rest of the files in that folder, along with a dxdiag report?

Thanks

I am not very sure. But I think, DayZ tries to load something specific (a value in a file or a file). And because it's the first try/start of the game, this value/file does not exist.

Access Violation = crash?

Does game crash and throw you out? Or does it freeze completely?

If i click on "Change server" it freezes for about 2 min then loads the server list and "play" just freezes.

Hi,

Could you also upload a dxdiag report?

  1. Open the menu bar and click the Search button.
  2. Type "dxdiag" (without quotes) into the search bar, then select the program dxdiag from the list that appears.
  3. Another window should appear titled DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Near the bottom of the window click on “Save All Information…” A popup should appear with a progress bar, this may take a few minutes.
  4. After it completes a dialog should appear asking you where to save the file.
  5. Save the file and upload it here

Thanks
