This has happened several times before, but I thought it was just a glitch, but I have been able to reproduce it, just at random intervals. This last time it happened I decided to shoot around. I shot the zombie, he turned visible and died like the rest, but not before he laid down a brutal beat down on me and the guy I was holding hostage at the time.

None, but if you start to get beat up by an unknown entity,. just start shooting around you to try and hit him.
Additional Information
If you just so happen to be crouching without a ballistic helmet, they CAN 1 hit KO you. Also, you can hear the zombies, although the audio played from them is only a short cut up segment of what it originally is.

Same happend for me. I could hear the zombie but it was invisible and killed me very fast with about 3 punches(i was standing up/running).
This happend when i was healthy.
