load the weapon with loose ammo, then with a snaploader in inventory, hit R to reload the weapon. The "loose" ammo will be placed in inventory and be useable as if it were a snap loader. You can then place this fake loader on the ground, rinse and repeat until you run out of loose ammo.

this is a game unbalancing bug.
