Title says it all, i saw a baseball bat, switched it for my degrading fire axe, my fire axe disappeared, i later found it half stuck in a wall on the other side of the house. I tried the same thing with the baseball bat when i found the axe and the bat once again ended up in a completely different part of the house about the same distance away.

Steps To Reproduce
Find a melee weapon on the ground and switch it with your current weapon and it should disappear or drop a ways away from you.

I think it has to do with the new way of dropping items, it seems like the item you drop/switch is placed on the position where your cross-hair is aiming towards. I have lost dozen of items in this way the last patch @0.44
