After changing keybindings, checking inventory while running always stops the character from running
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I have seen countless videos, including that from developers, where they are running forward and able to check their inventory without stopping. I had never been able to do this. I play lefty and so I changed all the key bindings to fit my play style. Whenever I am on the move and check inventory, the character stops moving forward. It makes no difference whether I am walking, running, or sprinting.

UPDATE: based on user vatixerid's information, this has been confirmed to be an issue with the UP ARROW KEY. If pressed while checking inventory on the move, your character stops moving.

Hi,

Could you upload the file at C:\Users\[NAME]\Documents\DayZ\[NAME].DayZProfile?

Thanks

I can help with that.
When you change your movement keys to the arrow keys, the gear window ist listening and taking the arrow key up button. It "eats" the command.
I am only sure about the arrow keys.

R834, I am trying to upload the profile file but it says it is not allowed.

vatixerid, interesting. So it is related to the up arrow key? I will test that. Thanks.

UPDATE: I just tested it using the information provided by vatixerid and I can confirm it is accurate. If you are pushing the arrow key up for any reason while checking inventory, you stop moving. When I changed the movement key to a different key and checked inventory, I can open inventory while moving. So the problem is related to the UP ARROW KEY. I will update the report.

Not sure why it's saying that.

However, it shouldn't be needed now that it's been confirmed that the up arrow key is the cause of the problem.
