Would look much cooler and would make more sense if the character would crawl with two hands on his gun.

Also there should be fast crawling/crouching. Just look how it looks like in Arma 3

pls try to crawl with a weapon in your hands and look what is more realistic. (+ speed)

Did you ever crawl with a weapon? You don't crawl with one hand on your gun, you are 1. slower and 2. it needs more time to be ready to shoot. Or why do you think does a simulator (like Arma 3) has two hand crawling?
