I think to add some more realism that in desperation one would try breaking off a limb from certain types of trees to use for temporary combat. I would expect it to have little durability so maybe last a few swings but nonetheless something I would expect someone to do.

Walk up to a type of tree where a limb could be snapped/sawed off, hold interaction button to attempt snapping it off or sawing it off with a tool. There could be restrictions such as your current health level on how long it would take or if you could be successful.
