In all of the castles I was able to try this in (Devil's Castle, Black Mountain), it was possible to crawl, or more easily, roll into the wall directly underneath the first set of stairs that run up the wall. The space is not wide, but enough to entirely conceal yourself in and then roll out upon some unsuspecting player. This was on the developmental branch, I have not tried it on stable.
