I ran into the bar's upstairs wall and died. The small wall which lies flush with the stairs. Running right into the corner, accidentally, died. And all my gear was 'looted', was nothing on the hotbar and that was the end of it.

There's a glitch where if you run against the wall everyone else sees you as running through the wall and then running statically about 10 meters away. Perhaps you were shot by someone on the other side of the wall who then looted you.
