Same, I lost 2 charcters like this.

I have the solution for this problem.

1. frist you have to rename your character and restart the game
2. then login to a normal server.
3. when the message appears "you are dead" or "unconcious"
4. press "esc" key and press "restart" button
5. then the timer will go down form 30 seconds
6. in this time the timer will go down to 0 (zero)

you have to login to another server, you have to hurry
up to switch the server. than you will be respawn normally.

Respawn is hard for me, 100% of time ;(

Yup I had this problem too, me and my friend when we died, but as stated by Skymuss, that works!!! just seems that time does help also, took about 5 mins (went for a smoke) joined another server and i spawned.

Well fuck... I logged off last night in the forest...I had a mountain backpack a mosin with bullets shitloads of essentials... Now when i joined a server today, it did this please wait bug and now that character which was fine!! before i logged off last night is dead and I am a fresh spawn... WTF this sucks...

As for what you said @Spec0ps could it be you were killed in the 30 second window that your character stands around after log off now? I know a lot of people didn't read all the dev notes so didn't realize that is now a thing.

@Karpillaries, I highly doubt that since i logged off prone in some low bushes in the forest following the train track, I mean it is possible but i really doubt it. But didnt know about the 30secs, thx for info.

Maybe one day someone will actually fix this problem. According to some searching I did, this issue has been around for a while now and it STILL hasnt been fixed. Its ridiculous. I paid $63 for my own server and cant even play on it because I glitched through a wall and died and I am now getting unconcious, dead, or please wait every single time I try to log back in. I have tried every "answer" I have found online to fix this and not a damn thing works. So you can imagine I am highly pissed about not being able to play on a server I paid so much money for. This needs fixed NOW, not later. Too many players have this same problem.

I also had this problem yesterday.

I logged out of the server after a long play (for a short AFK). I came back after a few minutes, (re)joined the server and the Please Wait screen did not disappeared. Pressing ESC key makes show that the environment is correctly loaded.

I also faced the "You're unconscious", "You're Dead" bug several times during the last weekend (15-16 Feb.) after being killed.

Switching to another server or closing the game generally solves the issue.

In my opinion this is clearly a concurrency issue in the code.

If all else fails go into your steam Properties and Verify your files this will either prompt a you are ok OR will download files to fix your problem

Sick of seeing these "This is how to fix it" type stuff. I have saw this posted in a few different spots... if this worked, I wouldnt have posted the bug here. What we need is a damn fix, and even with lastnights "downtime" it still isnt fixed. $93 dollars into this game and I cant even play it because of this. FFS, fix the god damn thing!
