Sorry if this has been reported already, but searching for "pen" returns all 2,551 bugs; I guess the search index doesn't include 3-letter words.

Anyway, inventory space is too valuable to waste on a ballpoint pen and paper. But those items are so tiny that they shouldn't use up an inventory slot at all. If this were fixed, people would use pen and paper more often.
