This happened twice out of two such attacks.
When a zombie is running downhill at me, the moment it attacks me it dies without any attacks by me. I believe it is because zombies jump when attacking, and this jump downhill is too high for them, so they end up dead instantly.
Stand still on a steep hill (not able to sprint) while a zombie attacks you from above.
I has seen the same thing happen. Zombie running down the hill suddenly falls over on it's face dead. Scared the crap out of me becase I wasn't sure whether of not it died spontainiously or a sniper took him out at long range and i was next. I got the hell out just in case.
