ammo dissapêaring after collecting new ammo out of boxes
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

First of all i'm sry about my bad english.
I give example, when i found a mossin and 2 boxes of ammo (2x 20 rounds), i unwrapped one of them and reloaded my mossin.
After that i hat a box of 20 ammo and 15 ammo, and 5 in my mossin.
But a couple of towns further i found a new box of ammo for my mossin, so i unwrapped them out of the box and they deleted my 15 other rounds ( i could still see my ammo but the 15 ammo was brought too 0 ) so i only hat 5 ammo in my mossin and 40 ammo in my backpack.

Normally i would have 40 + ( 15<= was brought to 0)

Confirming here also. On the same note, if you have a box of ammo within a box (300 round ammo box for example) and open the small ammo box it will be lost also. Steps to reproduce:

  • Split existing ammo (not full ammo stack) within inventory
  • Take an ammo box and 'empty ammo' into inventory
  • Previous ammo will remain but be reduced to 0.

Also, attempting to load this 0 ammo stack into a gun will work, but you will not be able to fire any bullets.

Can confirm this also. Noticed it myself also but never got around to reporting it. Happens only when you do not have a full stack of whatever ammo you are emptying out of something example box or clip etc. Only way to get around it is to drop the ammo stack that is not full then eject the ammo and then pick up the stack you dropped that was not a full stack. Only way you can not lose the ammo.

If you do not drop all stacks that are not full of that ammo you are about to eject / empty it will 0 out losing the ammo of the stacks.
