Short report:

Upon loading a server, I loaded into a character that was 3 days old, and had died 2 deaths ago. This character replaced my newest character.

Explanation:

I logged out one day, saving my location in a shack. I logged in the following day and shortly after i died. Following this I had a new character who did not live very long either. Then another new character that I had collected a decent gun, backpack, and various other items. With this newest character, I ran out of electro and saved in a forestry area. The next day (today) i load Dayz and my new character (the one with the gun) was shown in the main menu. I clicked play and loaded my game, which *loaded the first character from the save point in the shack from 3 days ago.* So i turned off the game and reloaded, rejoined the server. This time i loaded as a fresh spawn next to the ocean. So i once again reloaded and it loaded up the shack save again. I have tried a few times and was unable to get my newest character to ever load back in.
