used a kitchen knife to open cans earlier, from Damaged to ruined in 3 cans. but it was still possible to use the knife to open more cans.

i think the rate you ruin your weapons by opening cans is way to high!
and that you still can use it to open more cans is just weird ;)

Maybe knives and some other weapons should only be able to become badly damaged from opening cans. This way, even if you dull your knife from pristine to badly damaged on a dozen cans, you can still use it as a weapon with lowered damage (once ruined items are actually unusable), thereby more accurately simulating the reality of how a knife is dulled from opening a can and then how useless it would be as a weapon if horribly dull.
Same thing happened today on the experimental server with a screwdriver. I agree that the rate that items get damaged opening cans is too high.
