If you carry one main weapon in your inventory and a second one in your hands and logout the char will start the animation where it sits down. And drops the gun that was in the hand. It will stay there after the char has gone and can be picked up by anybody. When the person logs back in he still has both weapons. Is even able to pick up the dropped one again (or parts from it)

This trick works with rifles and melee weapons.
Essentially combine all your best parts for a weapon, carry a crap gun in your inventory and pick up the good weapon off of the ground into your hands (cursor over the weapon NOT using the inventory menu and picking it up from vicinity into hands), then log out and log back in.
