Confirmed as well. Pristine kit, m4, mp buttstock, mp handguard, BUIS, bipod, coupled mag. Shot once, everything is still pristine. Cleaned, and now the weapon shows as Worn. Attachments are still pristine though...

I can confirm this one also with mosin.
Spraypainting made my worn mosin pristine again though.

Confirmed, happened to me last night, After I spray painted my Mosin and had the "one round in chamber" bug I tried to clean it with my pristine cleaning kit to see if that would "fix" it and it went from pristine to worn.

I can confirm that as well

I think this is an example of us not knowing if some concept in game is not implemented at all, buggy or just seems wrong.

3-4 of us tested it too. It damages. Both weapon and kit was pristine.

Doesn't matter what quality the kit is, it degrades the weapon.
Tested with a ruined, damaged, worn and Pristine weapon cleaning kit had the same results.

m4 and mosin

Same here. It seemed as if my "pristine" M4 went to "worn". All compontents also changed to "worn" except for the magazine which remained "pristine".

The weapon cleaning kit I had was in "worn" status.

Experienced this as well. Prisine M41A1 became "worn."

Problem is solved. Close the thread
