Every time I launch the game from Steam it tries to load and then sits there with a black screen. I have to open the Task Manager in Windows and switch to the DayZ process from there in order to get the load to advance any further. This happens all the time and does not make a difference how long I wait.

UPDATE (1-28-14): This only happens about 1 in 10 runs now.
