Lost a full 30 round magazine of 5.56mm ammo
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I had a 30 round magazine of 5.56mm ammo attached to my M4A1. I also had another clip of 5.56mm ammo in a 10 round magazine in my inventory. My inventory was also completely full at this point. I was attempting to close a gate when I accidentally hit the reload action. After reloading, I noticed that my 30 round clip had disappeared from my inventory and I had an empty inventory slot (the place where my 10-round clip had occupied).

it can be that, the dropped mag just vanished for ever. same with mags you try to empty while still on the ground. this bullets have a high chance never to appear

^ Same for me. Depends how long its been since server reset and how loaded it is.

Also, its a magazine not a clip. :)

I've had stuff dropped that wouldnt show up for 3-4 minutes...

I would agree, except I did stay within the vicinity in order to check if it would show up for quite some time. I understand why it's happening, I just think it should have fallen to the ground instead of vanishing. I stuck around for at least two minutes looking for that clip. So unless there was an incredibly long delay in the item showing up again, I think it would be considered a glitch.

Its because your inventory was full.
When you reloaded you took the 10 round magazine which only requires one square of inventory space, the 30 round magazine takes 2 inventory spaces.
So when you removed the 30 round from your weapon there was no room in your back pack and therefore was dropped on the ground by default.
Combine this with the bug thats causes item drops to take up to a minute to show on your screen and you probably never saw it drop.

Not a glitch itself, just a misunderstanding of the game mechanics.
