When I set a slot to use an item that I have many of, say cans of beans, I feel strongly that the game should not consider OPEN CAN OF BEANS as a seperate item to SEALED CAN OF BEANS. I want to use the beans by interacting with that slot. All of them.

Now, clearly, there is a difference between OPEN beans and SEALED beans. You can use one and not the other. This leads to limited automation on the INVENTORY BAR.

My suggestion is to allow open and closed cans to both register in the corresponding slot. However, if both register equally, which will the computer choose to fill the slot first? I suggest to have it default to OPEN cans first. This means that the game will need to offer a different option when SEALED FOOD comes off the bar. That would have to be OPEN CAN rather than EAT FOOD. This should not be a difficult change and I think it would greatly enhance functionality of the Inventory Bar.
