As I was swimming to Skalisty Island, I randomly saw my backpack and M4A1 drop and appeared on top of the water as if it were dropped. Then it appeared at the bottom of the ocean. After I got frustrated and left it there (unable to pick it back up), the items sort of followed me while I was swimming to shore. Nearly a minute after I was on shore, the items reappeared as if nothing had happen.
