Freezes on Server Connection
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The most peculiar thing about the freeze is I am left with whatever screen i was on in game, with the mouse icon and the background noise. Even if I force close process through task manager, the process persists, and force closing further does not end the process. The game will remain on, not allowing for clicking on screen, and i will be left with no screen input, and the dayz mouse icon.

tl;dr: Left with unresponsive screen with mouse icon. Cannot force close or exit game unless I log off/switch users/restart pc even after ending process with Task Manager. {F29633}

Steps To Reproduce

To recreate steps:

-Launch Dayz.exe
-Wait for load
-Home screen loads in [starts with polygons, etc. and details are added in regards to graphics settings]
From here onwards, 2 possibilities:
-Here on, clicking Play freezes the game.
-Additionally, if change server sis selected, the server list remains unpopulated. Clicking refresh, adjusting filters in general, or selecting any other tab produces the same game freeze as play.

Additional Information

I was able to buy and install the game before the recent 06/01/2014 patch. Played about 8 hours or so. Logged in the next day, game updated and thus began the constant crashing.

What I've tried:
-reinstalling directx
-updating battleeye dll manually
-uninstalling and reinstalling dayz [over 8 times]
-verifying game cache [over 8 times]
-running with optimized launch commands
-running through task manager
-enabling/disabling beta testing
-defaulting to stock settings
-running without antivirus/firewall on
-populating internet/lan/friends/history tab
-changing filters [adjusting ping]
-restarting steam
-restarting pc
-deleting the folder in local, %appdata%, and documents file
---folder in %appdata%/roaming did not return after deletion, but this was well over the 8th time I reinstalled
---local folder returned as game froze a consecutive time
-joining through a friend
-adjusting steam name
-ran game through different router
-adjusting default text settings on pc desktop screen [small to normal, normal to small]
-add more solutions as I find them
