Exploring the broken ship on the northern coast, I went into one of the holds only to find that once I waded across the water on the floor it would not let me back to the staircase. I tried prone, crouch, running, stepping over, but nothing would let me past whatever invisible barrier was keeping me from getting back to the stairs. Very irritating, considering I'd just finally got some of the rarer items in the game and had a good set up. I'm going to have to suicide to escape I guess.

Forward section of the ship, in the hold with waist high water. There was a can of soda in the hold, which is what led me to walking across the floor.
