When loading the list of servers in the server browser, internet becomes unresponsive for a moment. For me this causes Ventrilo, streaming software, and the current server I load in to, to disconnect. I imagine the amount of servers loading is too much for my router to handle. Possible fix is to have an option to limit the amount of servers per second.

Happens to me too, I think it's a router problem. Same thing was in DayZ Commander, but there you were able to configurate the connections so the server browser wouldn't crash the router. I think the same issue is reported in ID 0001340.
