I seem to have traveled too far north and am "lost" inw hat looks like the debug planes. After hours and hours of running I cant seem to navigate back towards any sign of forestry, ocean or city. If there anyway to restart or reset a character other than letting them die of starvation?

Had the same "problem" when I first started to play DayZ. Just walk towards the sun (usually it's SE or SW, depending on daytime) as you mentioned that you travelled too far to the north. Worked for me.

That sucks :/ I'm not sure if this bug still exists, but you could get your character deleted/respawned by changing your steam-name. Apparently this was an issue two weeks ago. Try that :)

No problem man :) Well, the last thing I can come up with: try to join different (and also "unoffical") servers, so your character can be wiped as it is a frequent bug. Hope this will help :)
