Regardless of what settings I set in-game every time when the game renders the game world in the main menu or actually in the game my EVGA Nividia GTX 580 1.5GB video card overheats like a wailing banshee. Attached screen shot is what my video temperature readings when playing the game from start up of the game until actually playing in a game before exiting, upon exiting that is when the GPU temperatures dive. I also noticed alt-tabbing the game while it's still running but when I'm on my desktop the temperature also drops.

If I continue to play the game for long periods of time like of whats say, 20 minutes or so the video card gets so hot that it overheats performing an emergency shutdown of the card (IE: displays off, fans kick in full gear).

Yes before anyone asks if I have proper ventilation. The answer is yes with a compressor. {F29448}
