If you drag an item from the ground into your hotbar it will create this white and unusable version of that object. This "ghost" item will not get out of your inventory unless you drag it from your hotbar to an empty space on the screen.

Steps To Reproduce
1)Find item on floor
2)Drag an item from the ground into an empty space on your hotbar
to remove this white version of the item you picked up just drag it from your hotbar to the side of your screen
