The bug isn't that the items disappear, the bug is that they are put on the ground on the bottom floor below you. Go 'down stairs' to the room below you, and you will ind the item you dropped. If you can not access the area/room below where you were 'upstairs' you will loose the item (unless you glitch into the 'room' as thats also a bug).
