I had just finished travelling from the northwest to northeast corner of the map, the new area. Was in a building near the Guba train depot, not sure exact grid. I was looking at a rotten kiwi on the ground in my inventory view (I was not otherwise interacting with it) and my screen simultaneously went black and gave me the "You Are Dead" message. I was not sick, had only been consuming canned food and purified water, had not been in combat, and had not had any problems otherwise until this. I did not fall unconscious either, it was straight instant death.
