The only way to get out is to run at the wall and exit the game while running. When you log back in you'll either be in the hallway again, or stuck inside the opposite room.

Please describe how you exit the game while running. I am stuck as well and cannot leave.

Press esc key to bring up menu, hold W while facing towards freedom. Your character should start running even though you have the menu up. While still running at the wall click the Exit button. When you log back in you should be a few steps forward of the invisible wall that you were running into.
