I had a firefighter Axe in my hands and it was damaged but on my quick slot bar when I mouse over the axe it says pristine. I thought it may just be the axe so I did it with a can opener and it does the same thing. So no matter what the durability of the item is it always shows pristine if it's on the quick slot bar.
