All the optics have incorrect levels of magnification
New, WishlistPublic

Description

I tested some of the optics, as well as compared screens from Reddit. I found the following:

  1. The PU scope only zooms about 2x compared to iron sights.
  1. The ACOG only zooms about 2.2x compared to iron sights.
  1. NON-magnified red dots zoom 1.4x as much as iron sights.
  1. While in freelook, the player can zoom 1.4x as much as iron sights.

The PU scope is described as 3.5x, the ACOG as 4x. The red dots are described as "non-magnifying", yet they are currently magnifying.

The problem with the red dots could be solved by giving iron sights the same level of zoom. After all, the player can already zoom that far when not using sights - it isn't logical that his vision would suddenly become worse when looking down rifle sights...

The problem with the scopes can be fixed by giving them the correct zoom levels that are relative to iron sight zoom. Iron sight zoom should be taken as 1x.

completely agree they are off but the acog is on spot depending on manufacture.

Trijicon makes them and they do come in other magnifications.

However, the US Army and USMC only use 4x models, which is the one modeled in game. The 2x Trijicon is not offered with the BDC reticle. As well, the ACOG's in-game description states "Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight with 4x magnification level".

Yes and I'm sure the LR optics on my moisin aren't giving me 10x either.

But with FOV affecting optics atm the whole thing is screwed.
